Hi, there! I am a mom, a scientist, a teacher, and a university dean. I have three wonderful
grown-up children, a daughter and two sons. I’ve been married to the love of my life forever and not nearly long enough. A Midwesterner, born and bred, I have also lived in California and Texas.
My scientific background is in neurobiology. I studied the effect of Alzheimer’s disease proteins on brain cells for over ten years. I taught college biology for many years, which I loved because students are awesome people. I’ve been fascinated by God’s marvelous creation since I was two years old, and still am. Currently I am the Dean of the College of Science at a private Central Texas university.
I have several blogs, and in this one you will find scientific information translated into everyday language (insofar as that is possible). There are people who deal with medical stressors by trying to understand what is happening and by learning as much as they can. If you are one of those people (like I am) then this blog is for you.
